The King of marketing is dead. SEO has pretty much given up the ghost… What follows is a pretty unpleaent story of what happens when you tell people what they don’t want to hear – and why you have a HUGE opportunity to take traffic away from these aggressive muppets.
SEO Is Dead.
Back in January, I called time on SEO marketing – announcing that traditional SEO was dead. I was shocked to find that I received a series of abusive messages – and one in particular that I’ve not forgotten.
It was from an SEO marketer who claimed that SEO was going to keep working. Nothing was changing – and why was I spreading lies. I wasn’t angry about the message, so much as dismayed. I wasn’t being psychic saying traditional SEO was going away. Others were saying it before me.
I guess it just hadn’t hit the ‘tipping point’ or whatever they call that point where everyone starts to notice something.
How People Consume Your Content Means EVERYTHING
Over the past few years we’ve seen traditional SEO fall away and be replaced by a ranking system that looks at who you are, what you write and how long and often people engage with it.
This is MUCH harder to game – because it requires you having a lot of content that people respond to.
Regardless of where you are with your content – I recommend you do the following at minimum, it’s helped one of my clients secure page one rankings for a VERY competitive term (I’ll be talking more about this in a future mail).
My Four Point Checklist For Traffic Success
You really need to:
- Be setup with Google+ and have a Google+Page
- Have your blog setup with Google+ Authorship
- Have a Youtube channel using the same email as your Google+ Authorship
- Make sure your channel is set up to use your Google+ account
If you can do those 4 things, you are ahead of 90% of content producers out there.
Remember – every time people lose rankings due to a shakeup like this – that means a lot of web visitors are up for grabs again!
And that means – in times of traffic hardship – there is also a HUGE opportunity for gains.
So – how do you make gains?
Simple – content marketing!
The ONLY Traffic Shortcut Left Is…
The big question is – is there a shortcut?
The answer is YES – it’s called content spinning. My preferred choice of spinner for the past few years has been Spinrewriter.
It’s a great system – that really does the job.
Now – over the past few weeks, I’ve been trying out a few other spinners – precisely because I wanted to see if Spinrewriter would be my spinner of choice over the next year.

All in all though, I think Spinrewriter is THE shortcut for generating content.
