You’re losing money (by not doing this)… and that is simply…

Getting a retainer up front! 

Again, I have been trying to keep my pulse on what is going on, and what questions you guys are having while starting to work on adding lead gen as a preferred service in your offline businesses. 

I am noticing some of you are forgetting about the simple things and I saw this the other day:

“I sent this guy 12 leads, at $45 a lead and he won’t pay me, what do I do?”  

Answer: Find another client! 

Better Answer: Make sure you are taking a retainer up front … so if they don’t pay when you bill them.. You have already been paid! Now go fire that other jackass that is not paying you!

Once you got the deal locked in, and you have agreed to your terms, let’s say $50 per phone lead, this is how you close them to make sure you get paid up front:

“Great, so $50 per phone call it is, now in order to get started I take a 10 lead retainer. What this does is acts as your LAST payment to me. Every time you get 10 leads in, I am going to send you a bill, if you don’t pay the bill, we will just simply stop sending the leads, and I already have your last payment. Do you want me to send the invoice to your e-mail or snail mail it?” 

Now you just got paid $500. Now, when you send him his bill for the 10 leads… if he doesn’t pay the bill:

You already have his last payment.. 

Simply cut off the virtual phone number from their business until you find another client. Now that you have proof of leads sent, you also do not need to wait on anymore phone calls to get generated. 

You simply call up his competitor, show him the numbers and easy peasy, back on profit street! 

Sometimes you just have to be proactive, and get out there and show people what is up and all the cool things you have done online, I promise you it’ll make you more money.

Anyways, make sure you are getting a retainer up front so you are always protected. I know it is mentioned before, I just wanted to reiterate that point because it is that important.
