Don’t let this happen to you

I want to share something with you that happened to me
yesterday.

Knowing this is going to save you money and get you better
results.

It’s to do with building your email list with solo ads.

Recently I sent you an email saying that I was buying a
lot more solo ads again.

That’s what I have been doing over the last few weeks as
I’m going to be putting together a new solo ad case study.

I’ve been getting some really good results but yesterday
I made a bit of a mistake 🙁

What happened was I purchased a solo ad as normal.

It was 100 clicks for around $40.

I did the usual, set up my new tracking squeeze page and
then sent my squeeze page and my swipe over to the solo
seller via email.

At the same time I asked if they could send me their
squeeze page so I can join their list so I can see the
email that they send out to their solo ad list.

(so I can basically see the email they used for my solo ad)

But it was too late.

The solo ad went out hours after sending my information
over to them which was strange as it wasn’t supposed to
go out until the next day.

The traffic came but the results were not great.

My opt in rate was around 28% which is terrible for my
squeeze page as it usually converts at around 35 – 60%

So I knew something wasn’t right.

I contacted the solo seller and asked them if they used my
swipe.

They said "I had to modify it to suit my list"

That was fine I said but asked if they could send me the
email that they sent out for my solo ad.

Then they said "yes I used your swipe"

So now I was like "ok this is starting to sound a bit fishy"

I finally ended up getting them to send me the email they
sent out.

You want to know what they sent out?

Absolutely nothing like my swipe.

Grrrrrrrr.

What they sent out was basically a spammy 5 line mail
saying "hey check this out" which does you absolutely
no favours.

This really made me mad.

They can modify your swipe but there is a difference
between "modify" and using something completely different.

Some solo sellers are so slippery it makes my blood boil.

So what can you learn from this ?

Well, you must make sure that you can use your own swipe
when using solo ads otherwise you are shooting blind.

Using your own swipe file/email for the solo ad is very
important so you need to make sure they either use 100%
of it or at least use a good portion of it.

The way to make sure this happens is by either talking
to them first or/and to sign up to their solo ad list so
you can see the email that they send out to their list for
your solo ad.

Most of the solo ads that I buy I either break even or make
a nice profit so you could say I have solo ads pretty much
cracked 😉

But on the odd occasion I do make a mistake or get a bit
too relaxed and thought this was a perfect opportunity to
let you learn from this mistake.

I hope you can take on board what I have explained today
because it’s very important when it comes to getting good
results with solo ads.

Let me just say that most people do in fact lose money
when ever they buy solo ads to build their list, but I have
a lot of strategies that I use to ensure my solo ads are
as profitable as possible 🙂
