It’s all about USER-ENGAGEMENT…and because Google is user-focused, user-engagement is a powerful ranking factor…

The problem is that good content alone is not enough to get you powerful user engagement. You need to find a way to make your content both useful AND engaging…

Here are a few quick tips for getting your audience to engage with your content:

  • Create/Curate content with your audience in mind (it needs to be content your users will find valuable…)

  • Follow trends (this is how big media and authority sites create engaging content, because they know people are searching for certain trending keywords…)

  • Have a solid content promotion strategy in place (keep your content circulating on social networks and set up a way to stagger your content promotion…)

  • Use link bait to get QUALITY links (yes, backlinks are still important, but manually built backlinks have extremely low value – it’s the quality rather than the quantity that matters now)

  • Have a system in place (creating and promoting quality content is labor intensive, so make sure you take a systematic approach, either creating or promoting content everyday…)

The tips I’ve given you here are solid advice on providing great content to your audience. But I’ve got a couple of little-known methods you can use to tweak your content for powerfully engaging your visitors and getting traffic! (including a way to create viral content…)

P.S.– There’s no way around it – tricks and tactics are a short term solution (and likely to get you slapped), and Google actively devalues sites with low quality content and backlinks…

Like it or not, content marketing is the future of doing business online. Google has made a huge effort in the past two years to devalue junk content and reward those who play the game.

It ultimately boils down to providing value for our customers, and creating massive engagement…
